trimurti

A representation of the Trimurti (lit. three forms), that portrays the three deities (left to right) Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, together with their consorts Sarswati, Lakshimi and Parvati respectively. These three gods symbolize the three functions of the cyclical flux of time: creation (Brahman), preservation (Vishnu) and destruction/assimilation (Shiva).

Myth of the Creation from the Brahma Lotus

A representation of one of the most famous version of the Hindu Creation Myth, in which Vishnu, here depicted as personification of Brahman, the Absolute, lays sleeping. During his sleep, a lotus sprouts out of his navel. When this lotus opens, it contains the deity Brahma, which starts creating the world.
